Collection: Kim Bishop

Kim Bishop is a nationally exhibited multimedia artist in SanAntonio, Texas. Currently she is teaching community Drawing Foundations classes at the Southwest School of Art while working on her MFA at University of Texas San Antonio. She also works with community children art programs through the Spare Parts organization, as a mentor with The New York Foundation for the Arts Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program and as a public artist with Bishop & Valderas LLC. Kim Bishop holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Art and a Master of Arts in Gifted and Talented Curriculum from Texas State University with four lifetime Texas Teaching Certifications. Bishop has been an artist/arts educator for over thirty years. Her work is part of the University of Texas San Antonio collection and the San Antonio Public Library permanent collection. Bishop co-founded Art To The Third Power in 2010, an artist collaborative that focuses on social engagement art primarily through the operation of a pop-up industrial press with their projects; Texas Size Print, Texas Size Breach and 3rd Space Art Gallery. Her mission is to engage communities in art making and art dialogue in order to create a more healthy world.
